What is Vision to Action (V2A)?

Vision to Action is the granting entity of the Florida-Bahamas Synod of the Evangelical Lutheran Church in America.
V2A grants are awarded to help launch innovative ministries that invite people into a relationship with God through Jesus Christ and expand the church. Proposals should also address one or more of the goals of making disciples, sharing Christ, growing vital congregations, doing justice, and seeking intentional diversity.

V2A supports “out-of-the-box,” new ways of being church in a rapidly changing cultural landscape. The overarching emphasis is on intentional evangelism--inviting new people to experience the life-changing power of the gospel.

Priorities for grantmaking are published each year, based on goals that were established through a synod wide listening and planning process.

We are excited to host Rev. Henry Burt to discuss the intersection of mental health and faith in light of the epidemic of perfectionism. Join us for this seminar and workshop as we discuss:

  • The history of Henry’s journey into the field of mental health and ordained ministry.

  • The scope of the problem with particular attention to high-risk groups.

  • Henry’s doctoral work, “The Epidemic of Perfectionism, its Theological Interactions, and how Communities can Faith-fully Respond”

  • The logistics and necessary details of setting up a faith-based program of youth counseling and assistance

Admission is free and food will be provided.

HISTORY

St. Mark’s was blessed to receive a initial grant from the Vision to Action committee in 2023. The grant was named “Faith in Community,” and it empowered a series of community events with the goal of inviting our community into the church for engaging, entertaining, and edifying events.

In 2025, St. Mark’s was awarded a renewing grant, called “Faith in Community: Deepening Connections.” Our team continues to plan and execute meaningful events for the sake of our community. Please join out mailing list to stay informed.
