Who we are

We have been an active member of this community since 1938 and take seriously our responsibilities in the city and neighborhood. We are proud to call ourselves an urban congregation.

Since our beginning, St. Mark's has been known for its excellence in traditional and liturgical forms of worship and church music. While we are traditional, we are not stuffy or rigid. We understand that God continues to bless his people with new music and new ways to bring praise and glory to God. We are challenging without being preachy, and contemporary without being trendy.

St. Mark's pays close attention to the needs of the people in our congregation and in the world around us. We have well-developed caring ministries for those who are sick or homebound in our congregation. Likewise, we are active in serving those in need in Jacksonville, Florida, and around the world.

We are a congregation that shares a living, daring confidence in God's grace. Liberated by our faith, we embrace you as a whole person — questions, complexities and all.

Our Vision

We strive to celebrate the rich diversity of God's people, welcoming all to be nourished in their faith journeys. We live to serve others and fulfill our relationship with Christ in service to community.
