“…be filled with the Spirit, as you sing psalms and hymns and spiritual songs to one another, singing and making melody to the Lord in your hearts.”

- Ephesians 5:19

Cantor Tony Cruz

Music is an integral element of the worship experience at St. Mark’s. We celebrate music as a gift from God. Through music, we praise and glorify God, sharing God’s word with the Church and the community. St. Mark’s is blessed to be able to offer special musical events for the community throughout the year.

St. Mark's Festival Singers

The Festival Choir is for high school youth and adults. In addition to leading the congregation in song, our challenging repertoire spans the spectrum of music, from Gregorian to Baroque, classical, and contemporary periods.

We rehearse on Wednesdays from 7:00pm - 8:30 pm in the Music Suite, and Sunday mornings at 9:00 am.

St. Mark's Ringers - Jacksonville, FL

St. Mark's Ringers

The St. Mark's Ringers is for those who enjoy a challenging and exciting range of music. Ringers play 4-5 times per season (Spring and Fall). In the early spring we take an annual trip to Lutheridge for a handbell retreat.

We rehearse on Wednesdays from 5:30 pm - 6:30 pm in the Nave.

All levels of expertise welcome.

Bach Vespers

Bach Vespers is a tradition at St. Mark’s for more than 20 years. It features a cantata by J. S. Bach in the context of a Lutheran Vespers (Evening Prayer) service. We invite singers from the community to participate in this unique worship service. Professional instrumentalists and trained soloists join the choir to proclaim the gospel of Jesus Christ.

Information for the 2025 Bach Vespers will be posted in late mid-September.

San Marco Chamber Music Society

The San Marco Chamber Music Society has its home at St. Mark's Lutheran Church.  Each year, SMCMS offers a series of concerts of chamber music with performances by some of the area's finest professional musicians. Concerts are performed in the intimate and acoustically excellent nave of the church.

Concerts are hosted by Eric and Ellen Caruso Olson, both members of St. Mark's and the Jacksonville Symphony Orchestra.

Concerts begin at 7:00 pm and are free to the public. All donations support the society.
